Can I use Facebook in my business?

Written by Gill Kelley on Tuesday 27th April 2010 at 1:26 pm

Facebook has over 300 million active users! This doesn’t make it useful to your business automatically, but many brands are now setting up pages within Facebook and attracting and engaging with ‘fans’ on this basis.  Have a look at http://tinyurl.com/c82zq7 for an example (you don’t need a Facebook account to look at this but you will if you want to ‘connect’ with Innocent.)

Facebook also allows advertising (it didn’t at the start) and this can be paid for on a pay per click basis. Look at http://tinyurl.com/d8s4h6 to read about where ads can be displayed on Facebook pages and how social ads tie in to actions that Facebook users take.

Discuss the CAM Digital assignments with other students

Written by Marie Page on Monday 19th April 2010 at 4:38 pm

There’s a discussion group emerging on LinkedIn for CAM students to talk to and support each other. If you are currently studying for a CAM Digital qualification it may well be worth while adding your voice to the conversation, and apart from anything else its good experience of actually using a social network!

I think you need to join the Chartered Institute of Marketing group first but there are always some interesting discussions there and plenty of marketers helping other marketers going on.

Qualifications in Digital Marketing

Written by CAMDigital on Tuesday 9th March 2010 at 11:46 am

The digital era took the marketing industry by storm. Suddenly everyone was using the digital buzz words and talking about SEO and Analytics. The marketer of today has to keep on top of emerging trends in the market and know how to successfully manage his campaigns using the latest tools. It is not always easy however to get the knowledge or a basic understanding of the digital concepts. It is a new arena and information that exists online may be bias or advertorial. Knowing what the terms mean and understanding how they can be implemented would empower a marketer with confidence and specialist knowledge that may result in more successful digital media campaigns.digital qualifications
The CAM Foundation launched two new qualifications in July 2009 in Digital Marketing to complement our Diploma in Marketing Communications. Students can now enrol on the Diploma in Digital Marketing and the Diploma in Managing Digital Media which is being piloted at five UK centres.
The Diploma in Digital Marketing is for any marketing professional that wants to understand what digital marketing is about. The buzz words and main trends. It covers topics like Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC) as well as online PR, email and viral marketing.
The Diploma in Managing Digital Media is about putting digital marketing into practice. Running digital campaigns and involves digital media and branding. This qualification also looks at the fast changing landscape of the digital industry and emerging trends.
Each of the digital units of these qualifications will give the students an Award on completing which will give them the opportunity to show employers that they have that specialist knowledge in digital and working towards a Diploma. Exemptions are available for CAM and CIM graduates.
The digital qualifications are awarded by The Chartered Institute of Marketing.
